Course Description

Participants will understand the importance of environmental factors in site selection for aquaculture operations, including water quality, temperature, salinity, currents and nutrient availability. They will learn how these factors influence the growth and health of farmed species and the overall success of aquaculture ventures. The training will cover the process of conducting ecological impact assessments to evaluate the potential effects of aquaculture activities on local ecosystems, biodiversity and water quality. Participants will learn to identify sensitive habitats, mitigate environmental risks and ensure sustainable practices in site selection and development.
